Muscle activation, thickness, one-rep strength, pain, and sport performance are different outcomes.

Untrained adults, trained lifters, older adults, and athletes cannot always be treated as interchangeable.

What can the evidence support?

Association is not causation. A short-term signal is not automatically a long-term adaptation.
